The territory was familiar to her, far too familiar. She spent too much time here, but she couldn't stop herself. Couldn't force herself to move on. Her lips quivered. New tears were marking her already stained cheeks. Oh, God... how she missed him. *** She's walking there alone, *** No one by her side *** She manages to fight the tears, but *** The pain inside *** She can't hide *** And all the tears she's cried *** The moment she closes her eyes, she starts Images of him penetrated her secluded corner of mind. A strangled sob escaped her before she could bury the memories deeply in her brain. She would never forget him. How could she? *** Thinking of you *** The dreams that she had one time *** Have gone away *** Will they ever come true? *** All she needs is... all she needs is you She almost could imagine his lips touching her's like that evening when he had finally told her that he loved her. Almost. But then the feeling faded away and she was alone. Again. Had it been really one year since that fateful night? It seemed more like eternity to her. A dull endless lifeless mass of days without him. *** And she wishes today *** Was one year ago *** When you cared so much for her *** And loved her so *** Not a doubt in her mind that it would still be *** you *** Cause the love that you shared... it was true She stopped. She had reached her destination. "Hello Nick." She murmured, than she burst in tears. "I still miss you, Nick. Oh God it is not fair... not fair. We were just beginning... I had hoped.... Oh, why had it to happen? Why?" But she never received an answer from the cold marble tombstone. *** You never thought about it, *** What you made her feel *** You promised you'd stay together, *** But the hope she once had... so unreal *** All she needs is... all she needs is you All to well she remembered the Valentines day a year ago. When Nick's master had wanted to take her from because of an old promise he had made. But Nick had found another way to fulfill this promise without sacrificing her life. Even if she lived to become a hundred years she would never forget the moment when he had impaled himself on the stake his master was holding. He had lived just long enough to say farewell to her, then he had went limp in her arms. LaCroix had howled in pain and had vanished. She hadn't seen him since that time. Nick's murder had never been solved. *** And she wishes today *** Was one year ago *** When you cared so much for her *** And loved her so *** Not a doubt in her mind that it would still be *** you *** Cause the love that you shared... it was true She didn't know how long she had stayed at Nick's grave but finally she bid him goodbye, until she again felt the overwhelming urge to come here and cry her eyes out. She never heard the comforting words, never felt the soft strokes when he enfolded her shuddering form in his arms. Nick looked at her with pain and longing in his eyes. It was so hard. So hard for both of them. But at last he was close to her. He never expected to become her guardian angel but it had happened. He just wished that he could tell her that she should not grieve for him. He never wanted her to suffer like that. Unseen he walked with her back into the outside world.
